The Challenge:
Remotely monitoring operating processes in natural gas vehicle (NGV) service stations in real time and transmitting the data via limited-bandwidth communication links with hardware that is approved for hazardous operations and software that complies with different programmable logic controller (PLC) communication protocols.
The Solution:
Using NI LabVIEW system design software as the primary programming platform, the NI cFP-2100 controller to log data and record event data, the LabVIEW Datalogging and Supervisory Control Module to manage shared variables for the whole system, the NI Measurement Studio Enterprise Edition with Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX) technology to develop the human machine interface (HMI) for web-browser monitoring views, and the LabVIEW Mobile Module as a development platform for PDAs.
